Documents such as provider directories, formularies and informational collaterals are often printed in larger quantities due to the “generic” nature of the copy (the documents will suit a large population).  To keep the production costs low, the pieces normally are manufactured using an “offset” print process - again assuming the quantities are significant enough to absorb the set-up fees.

The JPK business model and platform ensures the “right job is produced on the right equipment”.  If the specifications are such that a digital print process is needed, that is the method used.  Given different circumstances, the most economical mean may be an offset print process.  And, there could even be situations where the job calls for a combination of manufacturing practices.
